Ballistic Nylon Knee Reinforcements
Our knee patches use heavy-duty ballistic nylon — the same grade of material found in tactical equipment, heavy-duty luggage, and motorcycle gear.
In standardized abrasion testing, our ballistic nylon outlasts standard cotton twill by more than 10x. That means your kid can slide, crawl, and climb thousands of times before the material shows meaningful wear.
The ballistic nylon is stitched directly into the knee zone using triple-reinforced seams, creating a smooth interior that's comfortable against the skin while the exterior takes the punishment.
100% Cotton Body
The rest of the pant is built from 100% cotton. Breathable, comfortable, and soft enough for all-day wear. We use a mid-weight cotton twill that balances durability with comfort.
Our cotton is enzyme-washed for a soft, broken-in feel from day one. No stiff, cardboard-like first wears.
Triple-Stitched Construction
Every stress point — knee seams, waistband, inseam, and pockets — is reinforced with triple stitching. We use high-tenacity polyester thread rated for industrial applications. This is the same thread specification used in workwear.
Manufacturing
After designing and prototyping in Bloomington, MN, we reached out to nearly 40 factories around the world before narrowing down to 3 that we sampled with. We then tested literally dozens of samples for sizing, materials, and quality before choosing our manufacturing partner. They're a leading childrens clothing company who knew that side of the industry well, and are partnering with an industrial materials specialist to create our Kneez Original.
Every production run is inspected against our quality standards, and we conduct independent third-party testing through CPSC-accredited laboratories.
What's next
We're actively pursuing GOTS organic certification for future product lines that use organic cotton blends, and are planning oeko-tex standard 100 testing. We're the first kids apparel company to utilize this material so simply put we have to pioneer a lot of these material tests for the first time.
